Episode 2 - The Feminine is Rising

On this episode of Rooted Feminine…

I will be discussing the Feminine Rising.

We will explore this shift in consciousness and energy towards kindness and connection, and how it is changing the way we live our lives.

I am excited to dive into the awakening process on the feminine path, which involves moving from control to surrender, ego to intuition, and hierarchical/patriarchal structures to community structures. We will also examine the ways in which younger generations are prioritizing belonging and community, and how this shift is leading to positive changes such as collaboration, care, and inclusion.

This is one of the most powerful shifts in recorded history and I can't wait to explore it further on Rooted Feminine.

Show Notes:

Hello, sister! Welcome to episode two of the Rooted Feminine Podcast. I am currently sitting in my closet recording, as it's the only room in the house that has carpet and I am surrounded by moving boxes. Our family is making a significant move across the country to return to the home of our roots, where we were born and where our family lives.

I am drawn back to the land that has captured my heart and soul, which is the Southwest of the United States, specifically Arizona. Arizona is a fascinating place. The area we are from is known as the high country, characterized by snow, mountains, ski resorts, and pine trees – elements that many don’t usually associate with Arizona. People often think of Sedona or the desert when they think of Arizona. While the desert does have its magic, the high country offers a blend of Southwest magic with snow and pine trees. I am incredibly excited to return to my roots, the land and the people that are close to my heart.

This move got me reflecting on what it means to reconnect with our feminine essence and the idea that the feminine is rising. If you have been exploring the divine feminine space, working with sacred feminine energies or goddess archetypes, you might have come across the phrase 'the feminine is rising'.

As I am in this nostalgic yet forward-looking phase of my life, returning to what’s familiar but also progressing, I wanted to discuss how this relates to the feminine rising.

Diving right in, I believe that awakening is an ongoing process. You will never hear me say that someone is awakened, because it's not a destination. It's a continuous journey. We may reach a certain level of consciousness or spirituality and stay there for a while, but awakening is an evolving process, akin to a cycle of rebirth. It continues to happen, whether we are conscious of it or not.

Part of our journey is to bring awareness to this awakening process, to consciously and courageously embrace our rebirths as we walk the feminine path. I am sure that many, if not all, who are listening have felt the feminine rising in some form.

We have all experienced a shift in energy, a change in power dynamics, and a new source of energy emerging from the depth of the earth. Instead of the energy always being light and elevated, as associated with ascension, there is an undeniable shift in consciousness.

If you study the works of divine feminine scholars, as I have for many years, you’ll understand that this shift didn't happen suddenly. The feminine energy has been suppressed for a long time, but it has never disappeared. It’s impossible to completely eradicate this energy, despite the efforts of patriarchal systems. Throughout history, we can find instances of feminine awakenings and risings.

Some might argue that what we are experiencing now is just another instance of feminine energy making its presence known. However, I like to believe it’s more than that – a paradigm shift, albeit not permanent, but more lasting than just a transient surge of energy.

Since the 20th century, there has been a noticeable change in this energy. We’ve witnessed the waves of feminism, which are related to this shift but not exactly the same. As a staunch feminist who believes in the empowerment of women, I want to clarify that the rise of feminine energy is not limited to gender.

Feminine energy is not gender-specific; it’s an experience and way of life that contrasts with the masculine. When both the feminine and masculine energies are in their most healed forms, neither is superior. They complement each other, and we will discuss this in an upcoming episode on polarity.

It is important to recognize that the rise of the feminine does not exclusively mean the rise of females or women. It signifies the surge in feminine energy. Women may have relatively easier access to this energy, mainly because societal conditioning often pushes men towards masculinity, sometimes to the extent of toxic masculinity. However, this is not an absolute rule.

This rising of feminine energy might be spearheaded by women, and we can see this in various movements such as gun control and housing reforms. While this podcast is not political, it is impossible to discuss these shifts without mentioning political topics. These movements, though led by women, are not solely for the benefit of women.

One of the key aspects of the feminine path, if spirituality can be said to have an objective, is that the rise of the feminine is for everyone. Feminine energy is inherently communal. The current rise of feminine energy aims to bring balance to the predominantly masculine qualities that have been prevalent for generations.

For millennia, we have relied heavily on analytical, logical, and systematic ways of thinking. We’ve been driven by achievements, goal-oriented mindsets, and individualistic approaches. These characteristics are part of the masculine constructs that have dominated society for a long time.

Now, there is a shift toward embracing body wisdom, cyclical wisdom, earth medicine, and earth wisdom. We are transitioning into more intuitive, creative, and fluid ways of thinking and being. As the feminine rises, we are moving from control to surrender, from ego to intuition, from head-centric to body-centric approaches, from competition to collaboration, and from hierarchical or patriarchal individualism to community-focused social structures. This is what we mean by the rise of feminine energy. The feminine supports feeling, intuition, collaboration, community, and a connection with the body.

For an extended period, society or the ‘machine’ has supported the exact opposite. This shift in energy is a calling toward living in stark contrast to how we have been operating in recent generations.

We can feel this shift, and there is evidence to support it. I am an evidence-based person, and it's vital to bring in research. Recent studies conducted by leading industries show that life experiences correlate with walking the feminine path. Embracing the feminine path contributes to happiness, relationships, and a sense of belonging. During the pandemic, for instance, people realized that they missed genuine human contact and a sense of deep community and belonging.

Globally, the health and happiness of societies are being restored through balancing and emphasizing community, collaboration, and a deep, intuitive connection to the earth as opposed to materialistic pursuits. This change is apparent in the values and priorities of the millennials, Gen Z, and even Gen Alpha. They are actively seeking ways to improve the world for the better.

One of the sad aspects of history is the decline of indigenous cultures due to colonization. A common tenet in many indigenous cultures is the concept of living with future generations in mind. In some communities, this spans seven generations. This mindset involves considering the long-term impact of actions on the land and environment, not just for oneself but for one’s children and successive generations up to seven generations into the future.

This shift toward feminine energy echoes these indigenous principles by encouraging a deeper connection with the earth, community, and considering the long-term implications of our actions on future generations.

The younger generations, especially millennials and Gen Z, are showing a marked shift in values towards the betterment of all, the planet, and future generations. This represents the rise of the feminine, as it encompasses values of community, collaboration, and long-term sustainability.

Inc. Magazine recently reported that 88% of millennial workers prefer collaborative work environments, as opposed to the more competitive and cutthroat environments that were common in previous generations such as Gen X and Baby Boomers. Companies are recognizing this shift and adapting their company culture to be more collaborative, as this is what the younger workforce is seeking.

Furthermore, a study focusing on Gen Z revealed that their number one craving is for community. Of those who had joined a community, 70% reported they did so out of a desire for a sense of belonging. These values are becoming stronger and more prominent among the younger generations. They are not just looking for these values but living according to them. This signifies the feminine rising, a shift in consciousness, energy, and desires in how we interact with ourselves, the world, and our planet.

While the news media might not always highlight it, human kindness and genuine care and respect are on the rise worldwide. Housing, for instance, is an area where this is being seen. Housing is not just a basic need but an industry with landlords, rents, and investments. With housing costs increasing, some individuals are taking steps to make housing more accessible for those in need.

For example, in my hometown, which is an expensive place to live, a woman bought a large house and opened it up for single mothers to live at a very reasonable rent. This is not just a charitable act but a movement born out of genuine care and giving. Although this particular example was led by a woman, it doesn’t mean that men can’t do the same. However, we are witnessing the feminine rising primarily through the actions and initiatives led by women.

This is the essence of the feminine rising – fostering a sense of community, collaboration, and looking beyond one’s immediate interests to the well-being of all. It is about making choices and taking actions that are sustainable and beneficial not just for the present but for future generations. The shift is toward a more inclusive, compassionate, and holistic way of living.

The passage speaks about the societal shift from historically masculine-dominated traits such as competition, hierarchy, patriarchy, and domination towards embracing more feminine values. The masculine approach, which has been dominant for millennia, often involved a mindset of taking whatever one can for oneself, sometimes at the expense of others and the environment. This has led to a society built on separation, competition, and domination.

However, there is a growing awareness and realization that the old ways of intellectualizing problems and trying to control and dominate are not sustainable in the long term. The passage suggests that these old ways have done damage to the society and the planet and are starting to crumble. As such, there is a shift towards a more feminine approach to solving problems and organizing society.

This feminine approach is characterized by collaboration, community, care, harmony, oneness, and inclusion. The passage posits that this shift is necessary for healing and evolving society, and that the next level of consciousness is essentially feminine in nature. It implies that there might be a need for the pendulum to swing towards a predominantly feminine focus, perhaps for a long period, to counterbalance the historical dominance of masculine energy.

Crucially, the rise of the feminine does not mean erasing differences among individuals, such as ethnicity or orientation. Instead, it’s about recognizing and valuing these differences, seeing them as beautiful, and understanding that a community of individuals with diverse attributes can be united in their devotion to positive values like care, harmony, and inclusion.

In essence, this is a call for individuals to embrace their own feminine power, to be aligned with their purpose or ‘dharma,’ and to contribute positively to the world. The passage suggests that this is one of the most powerful shifts in recorded history, comparable to the previous shift towards patriarchy and masculine dominance. The vision presented is one of a more balanced and harmonious society, where differences are celebrated within the context of a shared commitment to the well-being of all.

This passage emphasizes the significance of the collective betterment and collaboration as part of the feminine path. It contrasts the feminine path with the masculine approach, which is historically associated with competition and dominance. The feminine path is depicted as embracing diversity and seeking collaborative synergy. The writer ponders on the possibilities that can arise when diverse energies are combined to create something harmonious and magical, showcasing the beauty in diversity.

The text further provides advice on how individuals can actively engage in the feminine path. The first step is reconnecting with one’s body and emotions. The writer emphasizes that emotions are energy in motion and are a form of language that has been dismissed in a historically masculine-dominated society. Reconnecting with the body implies acknowledging and listening to one's emotions, intuition, gut instincts, and heart wisdom. This is juxtaposed with the conventional reliance on intellectual or head-based reasoning, which often disregards the body's inherent wisdom.

Additionally, the passage highlights the importance of self-care, particularly for women, who have been socially conditioned to prioritize the needs of others over their own. This conditioning is identified as a tool of the patriarchal system, designed to disconnect women from their feminine power. The text stresses the necessity for individuals, especially women, to take care of themselves first. The analogy of filling one’s own cup is used to illustrate this; one must be full and nurtured before they can effectively nurture others.

The writer speaks of the positive effects of self-care as not just beneficial for the individual but also having a radiating impact on those around them. When a person is full and radiant due to self-care, they naturally shine on others, creating a more positive and uplifting environment. This energy is depicted as being contagious, capable of positively affecting a community. When everyone engages in self-care, it results in a collectively nurtured community.

In essence, the passage encourages embracing the feminine path by reconnecting with one’s body and emotions, engaging in self-care, and recognizing the interconnectedness and synergy that can arise through diversity and collaboration for collective betterment.

In this passage, the writer continues to elaborate on the feminine path and how one can actively contribute to the rise of the feminine. There is a distinct emphasis on the role of self-nourishment and the subsequent positive effects on the community. The writer differentiates between self-nourishment and selfishness. Self-nourishment is seen as pouring into oneself and naturally overflowing to benefit others, whereas selfishness is perceived as taking from others for one’s gain.

1. Uplift Others: Being full and radiant through self-nourishment enables an individual to uplift others. This is contrasted with a patriarchal construct where women have historically been pitted against each other in competition. The writer implies that competition among women is a tool used by patriarchal systems to prevent women from uniting and harnessing their collective power. Uplifting others can be achieved through simple acts of kindness or through more conscious efforts in work, family, and relationships.

2. Rewilding Yourself This entails distancing oneself from patriarchal constructs and making conscious choices on how to engage with societal norms. Rewilding involves reassessing different aspects of one’s life and making choices that align with personal values rather than adhering to societal expectations. Examples given include reassessing participation in the food industry, housing industry, school systems, and traditional workplaces. Rewilding does not necessarily imply drastic changes like living off-grid but can include simple, conscious choices like opting for sustainable products.

3. Honing Your Mysticism: The writer encourages embracing the mystical aspect associated with the feminine. Historically, women were known for distinct abilities and powers, including oracle abilities and creating on a mystical level. Honing one’s mysticism involves tapping into these inherent powers and embracing them as part of the feminine path.

The underlying theme throughout the passage is the focus on breaking free from patriarchal constructs that have historically limited the expression and power of the feminine. Through self-nourishment, uplifting others, rewilding oneself, and honing mysticism, individuals can actively engage in and contribute to the rise of the feminine, fostering a more inclusive, nurturing, and harmonious society.

All of this has been driven underground. Historically, people were persecuted for embracing witchcraft, for having power, and for being in tune with mysticism. However, when you’re ready, reclaiming this mysticism is a powerful process, and it allows you to become a channel for the feminine energy.

There are several ways to embrace this. One way is to start living rhythmically. You can align your life with the natural cycles, such as the four seasons, or even the lunar cycles. This rhythmic and cyclical living is in harmony with the essence of the feminine. By tapping into the cycle of your choice, you are creating a channel for the feminine to flow through.

Engaging in rituals is also important. If you don’t already have a morning routine or other rituals that celebrate your connection to the divine, it’s a good idea to start incorporating them into your life. This can include new moon and full moon rituals, or even rituals during your menstrual cycle. These rituals not only contribute to rhythmic living but also serve as ways to connect with the divine energies.

Through this connection, you can engage in activism, social engagement, and conscious interactions with people to facilitate positive change. You become a facilitator in the rise of the feminine, contributing to the energy shift and transformation in the world.
