Show Notes:

Hey sister. Welcome to episode 20 of Rooted Feminine. I'm so excited. Today marks a birthday, not mine, but the Sacred Living Summit is officially live today. If you haven't registered and saved your spot, we have 27 presentations, including mine. So, it's more like 30, 31 presentations, helping you bring your sacredness to your everyday life, recognizing and being intentional in regular moments, so your magic can shine. I've enjoyed putting this together more than any other event I've done. It's officially through the portal and live today.

Register at rootedfeminine.com/sacred if you haven't already. We have incredible women, medicine women, indigenous healers, representing over five countries, multiple ethnicities, ages, from maiden wisdom to Crone wisdom. It's truly my favorite thing I've done in almost a decade of business.

It's so potent and powerful. We cover topics like menstrual cycle wisdom, runes, sigils, and symbols. There are witches sharing how you can incorporate witchcraft into your daily life. We also have intuitive energy healers and Reiki masters. Whatever you need on your spiritual journey, it's here. But organizing an event like this is no small task.

I want to share how I balanced my masculine and feminine energy during the planning process. At Rooted Feminine, we don't reject the masculine; we reject toxic masculinity and patriarchy. Sacred masculinity and masculine energy are welcome. We find them in our relationships and friendships and within ourselves. Sacred union is a buzzword, often in the context of romantic partnerships, but you can find it within yourself.

I admit I wasn't always in perfect sacred union while planning this event. But to reach that union, we first need to recognize when we're in our masculine or feminine and consciously cultivate those energies. I had to call on my feminine consciously, as I naturally lean towards the masculine. This might resonate if you also easily slip into the masculine role.

I was raised to achieve goals, and my natural tendency is more masculine. So, I had to intentionally embrace my feminine, especially for a project like this. If you're a business owner or entrepreneur, you'll face similar challenges. Balancing these energies applies to various life events, not just business.

Moving, for instance, requires managing logistics and might pull you into your masculine energy. So, how do you balance these energies in any undertaking? Hopefully, my experience inspires you to be intentional and present, the core themes of the Sacred Living Summit. If you haven't registered yet, visit rootedfeminine.com/sacred.

All month long, we've been exploring the concept of the modern mystic. That's the primary audience for this summit. A modern mystic recognizes the ancient power within, acknowledging the primordial feminine and its existence since time immemorial—before time itself. It's the essence of creation, the birth, and existence of all. You understand your magic and power, but you also live in 2023, a post-pandemic world that's gone a bit crazy. How do we stay connected to our magic in this modern life? That's the essence of this summit.

During the planning process, I had this parallel experience. How do I infuse sacredness into long hours at the computer, sending emails, and managing logistics and tasks? Being a modern mystic means certain periods of your life will be demanding. That's just a fact. Everything follows a cycle and has its season. You might experience a busy season at work or in life. In my family, June is packed with birthdays, including mine—a naturally busy time.

Perhaps your kids are into sports, 4-H, or other activities with busy seasons, playoffs, or dance competitions. During these times, you'll need to give more time, energy, presence, and capacity. Are you merely going through the motions, or are you truly present? Presence is sacred.

Let's differentiate between energy and capacity. Think of your gas tank in your car. Capacity is how many gallons it can hold, and energy is the gas itself. Your gas tank could have a 20-gallon capacity, but it's full with only 10 gallons of gas. Or it might be on empty with a 20-gallon capacity but only two gallons in the tank. These demanding times will also require more capacity because you might need to hold 40 or 50 gallons instead of your usual 20.

Running a business, raising children, maintaining relationships and friendships can be overwhelming during these periods. Sometimes, partners may feel neglected, and friendships may take a backseat, especially if you're a business owner. Regardless of your lifestyle, busy times will come, and friends might say, "Hey, it's been a while."

You're managing all these essential tasks that still need attention. We must feed our children or ourselves, engage in conversations with our partners and friends, take care of our plants, and attend to our pets. All these remain a part of our daily existence. On top of that, we're piling on some kind of project. During these times, it's no wonder that a lot can happen in terms of our spirituality and our feminine and masculine energies.

I'm sharing my behind-the-scenes experience here, but I hope you can resonate with it. During these busy times, I can feel disconnected from my spiritual self. Overwhelmed with mundane tasks, it's not as easy for me to drop in and receive visions or tune into my intuition. That's precisely what the summit aims to address: how to maintain that connection during busy times.

It's also easy to disconnect from our soul's path during these periods. We often forget the "why" behind our decisions. Why did we start our business? Why did we choose to have kids? Why did we take on that job? There's a soul-led purpose behind these choices, but when we're overwhelmed and busy, it's easy to lose sight of that purpose.

In these times, we might fall back into familiar patterns, including conditioned ones. I want to distinguish between patterns that are innate, stemming from our soul or karma, and those conditioned by our family or society. If you're listening to this, you're likely a cycle breaker and pattern disruptor, but during stressful and demanding times, it's easy to fall back into these patterns.

During the summit, I noticed that my practices felt challenging and mechanical for a few weeks. I'd sit at my altar or in meditation, but it felt like there was no genuine connection or divine channel opening. I recognized this disconnection from my spiritual self and why I do these practices in the first place. The irony wasn't lost on me because I was planning an event to help women live sacredly every day while feeling disconnected from my own sacredness.

So, I had to consciously and intentionally make some changes for this period. You'll hear in one of the summit interviews that I don't usually practice in the middle of the day, but it was a healing meditation that rekindled my connection. I realized I needed to do things differently during this season, so I adjusted my practice, no longer just going through the motions but creating a new rhythm.

I adjusted my schedule. I incorporated an evening routine to break away from the usual morning routine. I moved my practice from morning to afternoon. It's not the most convenient for my schedule, but it was necessary to break the pattern and introduce something new, allowing me to truly connect. When I was merely going through the motions, shifting my practice times made a significant difference. I still performed my usual morning routine practices but at different times of the day. This small change helped break the energetic block and rekindled my connection.

I naturally lean towards my masculine side, as it's more accessible to me. I'm naturally inclined towards doing. My conditioning reinforces the belief that harder work leads to more success, so my awareness often revolves around this aspect. When we're unprepared for these significant energy drains, it starts manifesting in various ways. In my case, it led to irritability. I also want to mention that I was sick during some of the summit interviews, which was a direct response to being too much in my masculine energy. My body essentially slowed me down because I wasn't intentionally doing it myself.

When we're not ready for these energy drains or aren't consciously addressing them, it can result in physical sickness, irritability towards loved ones, friends, or bosses. Beyond that, we lose our connection with Shakti, our life force energy. Sometimes, we're left with the feeling that just getting out of bed is an achievement. This is a recipe for burnout.

As someone who teaches these concepts and is well aware of them, I often criticize myself. I think, "I'm a feminine energy coach, and yet my feminine energy isn't readily accessible right now." But when we're on a spiritual path and not feeling as connected or aligned as usual, it's important to recognize that it's okay. We need to acknowledge the cycles. The most feminine thing we can do is recognize the season we're in, acknowledge the demands on our energy, and understand that it's okay to feel a bit drained and have less life force energy at times.

Absolutely normal. It's the most feminine, self-honoring thing you can do. We've talked about awareness on the show a lot. When you're aware and recognize you're in a demanding season, you can prepare ahead of time. However, even with preparation, old patterns can resurface. You can also respond in the moment. I've mentioned before the difference between grounding and rooting. A rooted life involves intentionally setting things up, co-creating and curating the energetic state you desire. However, that doesn't mean you won't need grounding techniques or responses in the moment.

So, I was both rooting and grounding. It's about bringing intentionality into your life. You can schedule things ahead of time or adjust your schedule as needed. You can also compartmentalize tasks. This may not feel like flow, but structure allows flow. It's an example of balancing masculine and feminine energies. The masculine provides the container, while the feminine represents the flow.

We might think we should effortlessly switch between roles, like going from business owner to mom without a hitch, but that's disorganized and immature energy. Bringing in structure supports your feminine energy because it allows you to be completely aligned and present in each role. I set alarms on my phone to signal transitions. I communicate with my girls and set expectations, ensuring everyone is on the same page. This approach lets me be fully present and open during that dedicated hour, embracing the feminine openness and receptivity. Allowing these aspects to flourish is possible because I set a masculine container.

Don't shy away from your masculine energy or think it's bad; it can serve you well. Moving on to the idea of grounding and rooting, grounding involves responding to stressors or situations. For example, when I received an email from a presenter requesting something or mentioning an issue, I would respond promptly.

I could have reacted by thinking, "This is terrible. They don't know what they're doing. I already sent this," but instead, I chose to respond to the situation energetically, spiritually, and intentionally. Grounding was necessary, but not in a reactionary way. I responded in alignment with my values, soul, and spirit.

The rooted approach involves designing your life to expand your capacity for stress and chaos. I did both grounding and rooting throughout this process. Regarding capacity, I mentioned that sometimes we need a larger tank than our default 20 gallons. Rooting consciously and over time allows you to expand that capacity. You can prepare for stressful times by working with archetypes like the Queen ahead of time.

How did I do this? I maintained a deep personal practice, even though I shifted things around a bit to break out of my rut and funk. This deep personal practice represents rootedness, self-trust, taking up space, sacred sovereignty, and the belief that I deserve all that I want and need. I also incorporated additional practices for grounding and responsiveness when needed.

Some of these practices involved moving energy. At times, I needed body-based work, and I learned techniques like shaking, which I discussed in an interview with Asha Frost, who is part of the summit. Body-based work didn't always reach the depth I needed, so I had emotional releases, mainly through crying. I had a significant cry during an interview with Lee Shane McDonough, who is also part of the summit. She provided the space and permission for this emotional release. Afterward, I intentionally curated a cathartic experience by watching emotional movies. These tears were sacred because they were present, magical, cathartic, and purposeful.

On a daily basis, I adjusted my morning routine, incorporating practices that focused on expanding my capacity. I meditated, set up crystal grids, and journaled with a specific focus on this expansion. These practices are typically part of my routine, but I directed them toward capacity building during this period.

I also utilized threshold moments intentionally. My office is located outside my house, so I have two thresholds: leaving my house and entering my office. When leaving my house, I intentionally shed the energy of being a mom and a wife, and I stepped into the energy of a queen, leader, and warrior with boundaries. Vice versa, when leaving my office, I shed that energy and transitioned back into mom and wife energy when entering my house. These threshold moments were crucial in helping me reconnect with my feminine energy and achieving a sacred union between my masculine and feminine energies.

Additionally, I introduced some evening practices, which I don't typically do. I plan to continue these evening routines because they added a spiritual dimension to my evenings. My usual evening routine involves skincare, but I wanted to infuse more spirituality, intention, presence, and magic into it. I incorporated practices like working with crystals, journaling, meditation, and card readings (tarot or Oracle cards) into my evening routine.

I hope sharing these details about how I balanced my masculine and feminine energies and brought myself back into alignment when needed has been helpful. If you're interested in more tips like these, not just from me but from 26 other presenters, I encourage you to register for the summit. It's officially launched and available at rootedfeminine.com/sacred. I look forward to seeing you there, and I'll also be back next week on the show. Until then, take care and find your temple space.
