Show Notes:

Hey sister, Welcome to Episode 21 of Rooted Feminine. I'm really excited to be here today and to be talking about rites of passage. This is something that I'm really passionate about. And we see a lot of times that masculine rites of passage are still celebrated in today's culture, but a lot of feminine rites of passage are not down the road in my dreamscape.

One of the things that I would love to do is host like in person monarchy ceremonies for girls who start their first period and really honor that as a rite of passage having blessing ways instead of baby showers, reclaiming some of these ancient practices and. Really honoring these rites of passage and it got me thinking about what is a rite of passage that we are not necessarily celebrating at all.

And that is the idea of rebirth, right? All of us know about rebirth, right? Like the death cycle and doing shadow work and all of that stuff, but you Not a lot of us are honoring it, celebrating it, claiming it, revering it as the rite of passage that it is today. So that's what we're going to dive into on this episode is really the reclamation.

That's a word you'll hear from me a lot. The reclamation of our rebirth and treating it, honoring it, celebrating it as the rite of passage that it is. Now, if you are somebody who. Loves to do these kinds of things in person, or at least online together in community, I'd love for you to join my event initiation.

And we're basically going to consciously walk through A rebirth cycle together. We're going to talk about what needs to die in our lives. We're going to talk about what needs to be shed and let go of. And we're also going to vision for the future what we want to birth.

And then we're going to open ourselves up to that process. So initiation is exactly that the three day event that is going to celebrate your right of passage of consciously stepping onto your next path of rebirth. Not just letting it happen to you, but bravely and intentionally, purposefully stepping up and saying, yes.

I'm open to becoming the next highest version of myself. So if that sounds like something that is for you right now, you can go and save your spot for free in our three day event initiation by simply going to rooted feminine. com slash initiation. All right. I really want to talk about this as one of the most potent feminine mysteries.

Is the death rebirth cycle, like this is magical. This is something that you can priestess in your life. You can priestess in your other, in other's lives. If you join us for initiation, that's basically what I will be doing for you is priestessing you through a conscious rebirth, through a conscious death and rebirth cycle.

All feminine beings, all beings with feminine energy, so all beings, have the power to bring about death. And no, I'm not talking about Red Realm murdering, I'm talking about spiritual, metaphorical death. And when you work with me, the way that I like to do this is through the dark goddess archetype and we'll be working with her in initiation.

But this is, the power to cut out things that aren't working, the power to shed. The power to release and say, you know what? Goodbye. This doesn't serve me. This can be an ego death. This can be an identity death. This can be the letting go of just. Relationships. It's gonna be relationship death, right?

Whatever we need to. Intentionally walk away from or intentionally let go because when we enter this death rebirth cycle, the death creates a vacuum and the universe doesn't like empty space, right? The universe is always expanding. So if there's empty space, it's going to be filled. Now again, if you're not conscious to this, it's going to be filled with whatever.

So when you step into your rebirth and you see it as a right of passive and you honor it and you revere it, you respect it, when you. Consciously or intentionally create that vacuum, you could then consciously intentionally guide the filling back up of that vacuum, right? Because the other side of this is the power to give new life.

Mother archetype, right? Mother. We all have that energy within us. We all have the potency to birth. And, tapping into our blood mysteries here, when we bleed, we are essentially entering a death. And when we ovulate and we are essentially entering the birth. And so this is something that happens within our bodies.

It happens energetically, it happens spiritually, metaphorically, mystically, all of the things. So this rebirth is really a portal to a new existence, a new identity. As women, we go through so many rites of passage in this lifetime that aren't celebrated, right? Like I was talking about earlier, the first period in our maidenhood, how many of us honored that?

How many of us celebrated that? I didn't, right? I just was like, oh, now here we go. I'm going to go bleed for the next however many years, right? It wasn't seen as the rite of passage. Stepping into our sovereignty as women. In our womanhood like this is really new claiming our independence and our sovereignty seeing ourselves as sacred.

That's really new. And I would love for that to be honored and revered. I think it is something that we are still. Just flirting with the idea of becoming sovereign beings and reclaiming our feminine power, right? Another one that just gets brought like brushed under the rug is transitioning into motherhood.

Like I was talking about those blessing way ceremonies. I think this one has. Come over a little bit in the terms of a baby shower, but they're so commercialized now and they're all about the baby, right? There's not a lot of celebrating the motherhood or celebrating the woman's rebirth. This is a death of an identity, the death of maidenhood and the rebirth into motherhood.

And it's not treated that way, right? Each of these are portables. To new existences, to new levels, to new identities. And if we treat them or treated them like the rite of passage that they were, they would be I just think there would be so much more ease in the transition. I know I had a hard time becoming a mother and a lot of you listening might have had a similar thing, like feeling you're thrown in the deep end with no support.

If we treated that like a. Of passage. We celebrated that if there was a part like a party, it's not be a party, but like an actual reverence, even just a pause and an acknowledgement, which that hardly even takes place. Imagine what the process. Would have been like that death and that reaper.

I think the same thing is happening with rebirth because on our spiritual journey I think one of two things happens this rebirth is taken for granted oh, of course as I begin to You know honor the sacred as I begin to be more intentional and present about my life as I begin to work with the mysteries and call in visions and calling my intuition And live a more magical life.

Of course, I'm going to be reborn. Of course, I'll be a different person. So this rebirth is just taken for granted. We see the seasons change. We see Mother Earth go through her rebirth every year, right? And so I think sometimes we just assume that's what's supposed to happen. And it is what's supposed to happen, but it doesn't have to be taken for granted.

And the other thing that I think happens while we're taking for granted is that it's done unconsciously. Oh this, like whatever needs to be removed from my life. And there's a difference between surrender and unconscious, right? Surrender and unintentional. And we can absolutely co create with our rebirth cycle.

We can absolutely say, I intentionally. Want this piece to die and I surrender to the process and I surrender to the way that it happens But this is where I'm bringing my focus, right? This is a pairing of a masculine and a feminine This is sacred union within this is consciously choosing and surrendering at the same time we can be intentional and present to Our rebirth and treating it like a right of passage can be the way to do this and we can reclaim and celebrate this growth.

We can reclaim and celebrate our evolution instead of taking it for granted or just allowing it to be something that happens to us. Complete happenstance. When. We don't make space to honor our rebirth when we don't bring consciousness to it. When we don't bring intention and presence to it, it becomes like a bypassing event.

We're not there for what is being shed and we're not there for what is being replanted or reborn or surfacing, emerging, right? So we can bypass this in a couple of ways. Like we can just completely be oblivious to it or we can brush it off. Oh, that wasn't a big deal. I didn't mind losing that.

Or, Oh, this new thing is cool. This new identity is neat. It's just bypassing. It's not actually being present for, it's not feeling the full experience. It's not embodying it, right? It's not integrating it. Another thing that can happen is you can look back and realize like you missed it, right? You missed the process and you might actually like where you ended up, right?

You might say, wow, this new identity or this new, whatever is serving me completely. Like I didn't even know I needed this. How did I get here? How did this happen? And then. You can have a little bit of sadness for that. There's a little mourning because it didn't actually go through the process.

Not that we have to earn it. That's not what I'm saying. We don't need to earn our rebirth. But the beauty of the cycle is being present for it all. Going back to mother earth and her four seasons so many of us hate winter, right? It's cold. It's dark. It's dreary It's snowy. It's whatever and we just drudge through it head down, hood up.

We're just like These 12 weeks suck And all of a sudden spring comes and we're like, wow, it's really beautiful The flowers are pretty and we can appreciate spring, but we would appreciate spring so much more if we actually We're present in winter. If we looked up, if we removed our hood and we actually looked around, right?

So this is the same thing that can happen with rebirth. If we're just unconscious to it, we might arrive at a really beautiful place, right? The universe is always working for us. So we're most likely, of course, going to arrive in a really beautiful place, but you miss it. You miss the process. I think You can recognize that something is different, or you are different, but you don't really know how or why it happened.

And there's mystery to this. I'm not saying that we're gonna death grip this whole thing but wouldn't it be lovely to be present for the mystery? Wouldn't it be lovely to just see the synchronicities and be like, Oh, wow. Oh my gosh. Okay. I see how why this is happening. I see why I went through that shadow period or I see why that happened to me.

There was medicine in there and I'm going to witness the medicine. If we're just bypassing and if our heads just down, we're not witnessing anything. We're disconnected from our soul's truth. We're disconnected from our soul's path. I truly believe that there's this like golden thread connecting us, right?

And we can follow the golden thread. The universe, again, is always working for us and we can be oblivious to it. We're going to, we're going to end up where we end up regardless, or we can be present to it. The old cliche is coming up. That's not the destination. It's the journey. And I know it's cliche for a reason, but I think it applies here a little bit because it's like, if you are riding through a beautiful forest, you're on a horse, you're in a beautiful forest, whatever, go with the metaphor with me. Most of the time that horse knows how to follow that trail. The horse is going to get you where you're going. But if you're not looking up and seeing the trees, you're going to miss the deer. You're going to miss the birds.

You're going to miss the beauty. So we need to be present to the journey, knowing that the destination is ours. The destination is ours. The universe is going to grant us exactly what is meant for us. But can we also be present to it? Can we be alive and awake to the receiving? Instead of just letting it happen to us because a real soulful and magical experience when we sorry, a real soulful and magical experience happens when we can be fully present for the rebirth journey, right?

We need to feel all the highs and all the lows, right? That's why there's. An emerging season and a liberation season that spring and that summer, they're beautiful. They're glorious, but we wouldn't recognize that glory without the shadow season and the healing season without the darker side, right? We need to feel all the lows.

To experience all the highs, they go together. So many of us are afraid of the lows. There's beauty in the low. There's medicine in the low, and we can be present to that. This is where we allow ourselves to be transmuted and transformed. We don't miss it. We don't bypass it. We open to receive it. We say, thank you for this shedding process.

Thank you for this healing process. Thank you for this. New births and thank you for this liberation and this experience. I think there's a way to allow ourselves to be filled and nourished by rebirth. This can be a completely nourishing time. This can be a soul filled, beautiful time.

A cleansing time, and when we're present to it, we can allow that. I really think this is how we truly transform and experience long lasting change and true healing. And in the therapy world, we would talk about, backsliding, quote unquote. And I don't really ever think we backslide. I think we have the experiences we're supposed to have, but we can always return to places that we've been, and if we're able to really Open to the rebirth if we're open, really able to receive and integrate and be present and conscious to that integration.

This is where long lasting change happens. Doesn't mean that you won't ever be anxious again, or you won't ever be back, quote unquote, where you were, but you will have a new level of awareness. You'll have a new level of experience. And you will bring into that familiar season a whole new level of wisdom.

And this comes when you're conscious. This comes when you're present. Now, I do want to talk about the difference between intention and control here. Because we're going to rebirth, whether we're conscious of it or not. Mentioned that already. And we need, there needs to be room for magic.

There needs to be room for the feminine mysteries to work. Because if you're, if you are, Mixing up intention and control. You're basically going to be having a death grip on this process, right? I want to release this because I want this to come in and I want it to come in and this way at this time and all of that.

So how this works, right? You can say and step into the role of a sovereign co creator and you can say universe. I recognize this isn't serving me. I want to consciously shed this. I want to consciously rebirth through this and I am open to any which way that it happens and I am open to my highest and best knowing that I could never death grip this.

I could never over control this and have it be what it's truly meant to be. So as I intentionally set out to release XYZ, I open to whatever is the next highest best. Okay. You can be present for the process, feeling every feeling, the highs and the lows. And that's not the same as having the death grip.

That's the same. That means showing up consciously. It's being present for, but not over controlling. Okay. So I want to make sure that we have that. That clear that we can do this consciously without stepping in and not surrendering. So I guess if I really say that we can consciously rebirth and consciously surrender, we can consciously surrender to our rebirth.

There we go. That's a good way to say it. Okay. So how do we do this? How do we honor rebirth as a rite of passage that it is, how do we step into it? How do we respect it? How do we celebrate it? I think the first thing that we need to understand is that there is no timeline. Okay. Changes can happen quantum leap style, right?

That's a common word. And we can be on a new timeline, like overnight or a matter of days or a matter of weeks. This has happened to me in real life where my, the trajectory of my life changed in a weekend, changed in a day, so these quantum leap changes can happen. Healing can also be a longer process.

Rebirthing can also be a longer process. I feel like, for me, that quantum leap was the catalyst for a rebirth. But I didn't rebirth in that second. If I look back and I'm honest about it, I think it changed the trajectory. It set up the rebirth. But I still had to go through all the process. And I feel like I'm still doing that.

I'm still mourning some things from that instant change. I'm still shedding some things from that instant change, okay? Letting go of the idea that there's any kind of timeline to this. We also need to honor the light and the dark. To re To be reborn, something has to die. This is the part that all of us want to avoid.

Me included, right? But we have to do the shadow work, and we have to do the dying work. We have to have our fall, we have to have our winter. So that we can emerge, and so we can liberate. Ourselves, so we can have a spring so we can have a summer, right? So we have to honor the light in the dark.

We have to let the death happen. It starts with the death. Rebirth always starts with the death. Okay. The other way to recognize and honor rebirth as a rite of passage is to know that it is a cycle. Everything that's feminine is a cycle. It's cyclical. We don't ever arrive at some destination. You may feel like, okay, I, I let go of this relationship or this partnership or whatever. And I really do feel like I've rebirthed from it. You might be rebirth through that particular relationship, but it doesn't mean you won't rebirth other relationships. Doesn't mean you won't continue to grow in that area or in that avenue of your life.

And you're also going to rebirth in a bunch of other arenas and a bunch of other areas. So it's not something that stops. It's not something that we arrive at. So honoring this is a cycle. Surrendering to the cycle. Knowing that You will be here again. You will be in a shadow season again. You will be in a dying season again.

You will also be in an emerging season and in a liberation season again, and I think that there's something kind of daunting about that oh, it's never going to end, I'm always going to have times where I'm sad or miserable, or I'm always going to have times where things are harder, and yeah, that's true, but there's also something really beautiful about that, and something really freeing about that, right?

Again, letting go of the control, letting go of the death grip, right? You will be back here again, and that's okay because you will also have a spring again. You will also have a summer again. Everything is a season, right? And you, because this is cyclical, you will maybe be in the same place, but you will not be the same person.

You will have wisdom and knowledge and experience and medicine that you did not have the last time or the time before that. You'll have awareness. That grows and grows each time you cycle and then as I was saying the last part is recognizing the seasons Some parts of rebirth are painful and uncomfortable if I'm honest, I'm going through one myself Going through a painful time right now I'm rebirthing right now in terms of the shadow and the shedding and the pain in the morning and the dying I'm right there, but I know that it is just a season.

It's just a season and it will pass And the same goes for you. You will find yourself in the next season. All right. So I hope you learned a bit about reclaiming rebirth as a rite of passage. I hope you see that this is something that you can do intentionally and purposefully. Which is not the same as death gripping control, right?

You can consciously surrender to your rebirth and honor it as the rite of passage that it is. And if you're ready to do this and you want to do this together, I would love to have you join me at initiation. This is my free. Three day event and we're going to reclaim your rebirth as your most magical rite of passage.
